“12 months ago – my business was considered successful – well success was measured in sales $ - revenue. The truth was, my team was unhappy, our clients were not receiving consistency and my bottom line was virtually non-existent. I was tired, physically and emotionally, and completely frustrated, which everyone noticed.

The first thing David made me do was write my own job description, as we worked through the modules I soon came to realise, it was a mess, I was wearing too many hats. I was trying to control everything and mainly focusing on the small stuff. I was going on a very long unproductive ride, always ending up back at the start.

Through David’s coaching I came to see my business as something positive. Learning new things, and reconfirming what I already knew around marketing, customer retention, company culture.

Breaking down of my profit and loss to small easy steps to make changes, was pivotal. Growth is great, but it is about the foundation and staying true to the fundamental core values of my business, that would see us through and allow us to reap the benefits from that growth!

David never told me I had to do this or that, by his guidance and working through the modules of the Quantum Leap Course, I was able to understand what was important for my business, what I was comfortable with, and where I wanted to be, personally, and in my business . David was a great sounding board.

In the last six months my profitability doubled compared to the previous 12 months. I am still not out of the woods, but I am going in the right direction. The best thing is my business is now structured and has focus – a clear vision.”

I had previously worked with David, many years ago, in a major NZ bank. He was a director of Private Banking and then went on to a strategy role in a global bank in the UK. During my time at the bank David became my mentor, and helped to develop my skill and experience to such an extent that I eventually left the bank and started up a small financial advice business.
I made contact with David again in March 2016 as I had some really big goals I wanted to achieve for my business and needed some strategic advice. At the time the business was just me, full time, along some help from consultants and my wife who still worked part time. David met with my wife and I and we spent a day on goal setting and creating a blueprint for the business and ourselves personally. We set achievable goals to accomplish over the following 12 months.
We have moved our business in to new premises and have two financial advisers on board, my wife has quit her job to work in our business full time and we are looking at getting a further 4 financial advisers by 30 June 2018. Additionally we have achieved a series of personal goals including improving fitness and a great work / life balance.
David has been a part of our journey and through our regular catch ups, I’m able to share business issues with him and he has provides invaluable advice along the way. Things I hadn’t even thought of and left to our own devices could have potentially cost us thousands of dollars in simple mistakes!
David’s experience leading a Private Bank in New Zealand and working in the UK, along with the rest of his business and personal experiences has given me the confidence to listen to him, turned dreams into goals and goals into plans. Its amazing how much we have accomplished with David in a few short months
I have no hesitation in recommending David Cairns to anyone, whether it be in a business or personal nature. If you have Dreams, turn them into goals and plans.
